Gender and Women's Studies (University of Illinois - Chicago)
To earn a BA in Gender and Women's Studies at the University of Illinois, Chicago, students need to complete 120 credit hours. The program takes four years to finish. The major has four required core courses. They are Gender in Everyday Life, Global Perspective on Women and Gender, History and Theories of Feminism, and Feminism and Social Change. In addition to these core course, students may choose from a panoply of electives and interdisciplinary classes. Other course options include Sexuality and Community, Latin American Women Writers, and Biology of Women.
With this major, it is possible to also complete a Social Justice minor. Three core classes are needed for the minor: Introduction to Social Justice, Theories and Practices of Social Justice, and the Social Justice Capstone.
