Located in Fort Smith, Arkansas, United States, UAFS is one of eleven campuses that constitute the University of Arkansas System. School Description

The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith was established in the year 1928 as an extension to the public school system in Fort Smith, with the superintendent, James William Ramsey, acting as the college president and the high school principal as dean.The school was originally known as Fort Smith Junior College and it operated within the Fort Smith public school system until 1950, when the school was incorporated as a private, nonprofit institution with its own governing board.

The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith offers a dynamic learning environment for nearly 7,000 students each semester. The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith offers 60 degrees leading to bachelor's and associate degrees, 35 professional certificate courses and a master's degree program. Students at University of Arkansas - Fort Smith can also participate in more than 100 student organizations, such as Greek life, intramural sports, academic societies, and cultural groups.
