Attending Spelman College was probably the one of the best decisions I made, from a collegiate, and personal perspective. Attending a HBCU, is an experience that you will not get at any other type of university. In addition, attending an all female HBCU is an irreplaceable experience. There is so much history within the gates of Spelman, and each and every class focuses to enrich - as women, as scholars, as citizens, as individuals of change, and most importantly, as sisters. The courses, the lessons, the relationships, the opportunities, the overall matriculation of a Spelman Woman is unmatched. I will never forget my years at Spelman, and miss them every day.

The most memorable statement about Spelman that has stuck with me for these last 50 years is: "We wake up every day without having to face racism or sexism on this campus." I think about that all the time and appreciate so much that I had that special time

My Spelman Sisters and I are spread far and wide throughout the US and beyond but we continue to connect and support one another.
