School Description

Simpson College provides its students with easy access to various benefits, resources, employment and internship opportunities in the Greater Des Moines area. Simpson College was founded in 1860 and was named and based on the beliefs of Methodist minister Matthew Simpson. Notable alumni include Jay Byers (CEO, Greater Des Moines Partnership), Roger Spahr (retired, Iowa Realty) and Sandra Hanselman Spahr (retired Iowa Methodist Medical Center). Noted scientist George Washington Carver began his college career at Simpson in 1890
