2010-2014, Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Illustration

More than a degree! What I liked most about Ringling College was the faculty and atmosphere. Faculty members sought to foster creativity, while inspiring confidence in the making of artwork. The Illustration department in particular while teaching students the fundamentals of composition-perspective-color theory-and visual problem solving- also took time, each and every one to help students hone their media skills as well. Being surrounded by so many creative minds has been inspiring not only creatively but also to pursue a career in the arts. The experience is the most valuable component of education at Ringling College!

1995-1999, BFA, Graphic and Interactive Communication

A Well-Rounded Art EducationEven though I was pursuing graphic design, destined to a career on a computer, my entire first year at Ringling was pencil to paper. That Foundation year was filled with drawing classes, color theory, art history and more traditional requirements like math and ecology. I had that whole year to explore and discern that graphic design was the path I wanted to take after all. The remaining three years were just as rich in content and guidance from wonderful instructors. I focused on not only compiling a design portfolio that I would be proud of for any future job interview, but I gained experience and knowledge that made me a well-rounded, informed and conscientious artist.Favorite class hands-down: American Creativity. I miss it.
