Redeemer University College opened its doors for the first time as Redeemer College in September 1982, after it was granted its charter in 1980. It opened to 97 full-time students and 63 part-time students. After expanding the campus in 1985 and 1986, the number of full-time students grew to 279. In 2000, the Ontario Legislature recognized the status of Redeemer College as an undergraduate university, and approved a name change to the institution to become Redeemer University College.

Redeemer University College encourages its students to be active within the community. • Testimony
            2002-2006, BA

Redeemer was great three reasons. Spiritual Growth, Social Interaction, Excellent Faculty Spiritually it was great because there was always somewhere to be involved and great teaching/speaking events. Also the faculty was able to present a Christian worldview in the subject matter being taught. Socially Redeemer was a great place. Living on campus was a blast and is highly recommended as there is always something going on. It also gives you the opportunity to meet up with fellow classmates and study together. Educationally Redeemer was great. The smaller class sizes allowed for greater teacher student interaction. The faculty are professional and always concerned if you a student that is trying that you are leaning and growing.

          • Testimony
            2005-2007, Attained Skills

My experience at Redeemer University was for two years from 2005 - 2007. I met a few friends one of which was my maid of honour at my wedding October 2013. The other two; I no longer talk to as he was an ex-boyfriend and the other I've said hi to once or twice on Facebook. I had an overall good experience with Redeemer and would recommend to anyone looking for colleges or universities in the Toronto - Hamilton area.

          • Testimony
            1999-2003, BA

Friends of mine attending other universities often commented on the fact that they felt lost in the crowd, rarely if ever seeing the same person twice in the same day. At Redeemer the size of the overall school body meant that you got to know a significant number of people because you had repeated interaction with them. I would describe Redeemer as a very big little university. There were multiple high quality programs to choose from, great facilities, talented professors (who you also often knew and were known by), and many ways to meet people and stay connected. Redeemer believes in building community and excels at it.
