It does a fantastic job of outreaching to many communities and people of all backgrounds to make this college as diverse and culturally rich as possible. And LA is one of the most culturally diverse and fascinating places on earth. Can't go wrong electing to coming to Oxy if you are admitted. • Testimony
            1976-1980, B.A., Communications, Theater, Film

My time at Occidental was very positive. Dedicated and world-class professors who taught all their own classes, even down to the introductory level (no TAs teaching classes here) and made themselves available for outside-class advise and counseling. I was given the flexibility to construct individual studies geared to my specific needs and challenged to do my best at every turn. The campus itself is a secluded garden tucked into the middle of a bustling city, providing a safe and comfortable environment for learning and play while making the incredible cultural, educational and entertainment offerings of Los Angeles accessible with ease. I am a strong believer in the liberal arts education, and all that it implies about lifelong learning and the skills necessary for success, and found them all well supported at Oxy.
