          • Testimony
            2002-2005, Bachelor of Liberal Arts

Upon my entrance to the workforce, there is one question that has been asked in every single interview: what "job skill" did you gain from attending Macalester? And every time, I reply "I learned how to think critically and solve complex problems." And guess what: that is a job skill that is in high demand and sadly in decline. I don't care what field you enter after graduation, the ability to organize information, quickly identify the key details and draw subsequent conclusions/solutions is critical. It's how I convinced a Fortune 500 company to hire a Communication Studies graduate to fill a construction & real estate position. It's why a national ad agency hired an account executive without any formal marketing degree or training. And it's why I continue to grow at my current position. Bottom Line: Macalester produces thought leaders. And if you want a job skill that truly goes anywhere, this is the place to learn it.

          • Testimony
            1980-1984, BA

I will be travelling thousands of miles, transatlantic, just to be at my 30th class re union at MAC. That only shows its one of the best colleges in the country. Experiences gained and high level of education are unique at MAC. Simply the best

          • Testimony
            1975-1978, BA

I loved Mac when I was a student there in the ''70's! As an enrollment professional with extensive knowledge about small liberal arts colleges, I can say with confidence that it is an even stronger institution today. I am especially proud of the fact that Mac flies both the US and UN flags, a strong indication of Macalester's longstanding commitment to internationalism. Mac was a leader in this area long before it was commonplace in US higher education.
