I came to Guilford as a transfer student from Boston College. I chose this school for two reasons: one, it boasted a strong community where professors and students interacted on a first name basis and two, it's located in the best state in the country and has a beautiful, sprawling campus with a lake and woods to get lost in.Those are two selling points of Guilford, sure, but what I came to realize in my years at the college is:-I've never found a more accepting community-The professors genuinely make every effort to get to know the real you-You're not just another cog in a tuition-paying, degree-spitting machine-Their "shared values" aren't a marketing ploy-It's so easy to get involved, find your voice, and feel as if you're making a big impact-It's not perfect, but overall it places the student first. Short- and long-term.

Greatly appreciated the time I spent at Guilford. Made a lot of friends (students and teachers alike) and was able to expand my thinking of the world after coming out of high school. Helped me greatly in learning about economic marketplaces and starting to plant the seeds for the passions that I act on today.

Guilford was truly home for me during my four years there. It was a nurturing, supportive and safe environment for me to explore my interests and develop my passions. Strangely, I find myself actually using my degree in my career- a unique prize from a liberal arts education. But the best gift I received was the care of the professors who taught me how to think- and truly cared about the evolution of my mind. That's the gift I fall back on every day.
