            1987-1991, BA

Grinnell College is a great place to learn to think and to make lifetime partners in citizenship and community. And--not to scare off and prospective students--Ialso met my loving wife!

          • Testimony
            1963-1967, BA

The academics offered are at a very high level in a broad range of fields. The faculty I met were outstanding. But beyond the academics are the things that helped me to grow and develop the most: extra curricular activities such as being able to play in a top notch orchestra and take lessons from a professional cellist in the artist-in-residence string quartet, a wonderful art department with classes available ranging from traditional to non-traditional (such as silver-smithing). Concerts presented by some of the top groups and individuals of the day (both classical, and folk music). There was a terrific folk dance club when I was there and we put n International dance concerts for the college community over the four years I participated. I was there during the turbulent '60's and discovered a whole world outside my personal experience! So many opportunities in and out of academics! I am grateful for my years at Grinnell.

Of all of the things you will learn at Grinnell, the most important will be the ability to write. The true benefit of knowledge is being able to communicate it to others and in so doing enhance their lives.
