School Description

The College started with a vision in 1958 but was incorporated officially a year later. Formerly with another name, Eckerd College acquired its name in 1972 from Mr. Jack M. Eckerd who transferred control of college to self-perpetuating Board of Trustees and created a covenant relationship between the church and the college. He served the college until his death in 2004. Among the many notable alumni, a few are: Hank Green (Creator and Host at SciShow), Alex Eckelberry (CEO at Meros.io) and Felipe Wasserman (CEO at Petitebox).
