Cottey College is the perfect place to start out. It is really small, but the professors and education are first rate. While the college is small the students are a close-knit community that makes you feel safe and inspired. Cottey offers a wide range of opportunities that many other colleges and universities can’t offer. At Cottey you can take music lessons for little or nothing, when you couldn’t afford it elsewhere. You have small classes and lots of personal interaction with the teachers. You are open to take part in volunteer organizations in the community and help out. Not to mention the wide range of subject areas to study and having free use of the school’s gym. And let’s not forgot for any former student or visitor to the school, the food is amazing!

I joke that I received a 25k education for 3k at Cottey, and then a 3k education for 25k elsewhere. It truly is an amazing place for young women to learn about the world and themselves, without any co-ed pressure. I can only hope that my daughters will also choose this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience Cottey like I did.
