School Description

Corban University was founded in 1935 in the city of Phoenix by Pastor Roy O. Bancroft as the Phoenix Bible Institute. In 1943 the institute had an enrollment of 30 students and in 1946 the school moved to Oakland California and a new name was chosen for it; Western Bible College. In 1954 enrollment grew to 94 and in 1958 it again grew to 128.

Corban University’s love for God is at the core of all their activities and it provides students with numerous spiritual opportunities such as nights of worship, participating in service projects or visiting Corban’s Prayer chapel. Chapel is held three times a week for the whole community at Corban. The University, through its Reach program, also organises work in community service projects focusing on the issues of education, housing, literacy, justice, dignity and creation care. The University also works with organisations like Union Gospel Mission, Habitat for Humanity, SMART, Oregon Right to Life and Turtle Ridge Wildlife Center.
