College of the North Atlantic - Baie Verte - Bachelor's Degree

The College of North Atlantic (CNA) is a public college and one of the largest post-secondary educational and skills training centre in Atlantic Canada. CNA has 17 campuses across Newfoundland and Labrador. The Baie Verte Campus is located in Central Newfoundland, and it offers three programs; Construction/Industrial Electrician; Industrial Mechanic (Millwright); and Welder.

School Description

Baie Verte was one of the original places that saw the establishment of District Vocational Schools in 1963. Over the years, the different District Vocational Schools would form two institutes and five community colleges. In 1992, the two institutes and five community colleges formed five colleges of Applied Arts and Technology and Continuing Education. And five years after that, College of North Atlantic was officially formed from those five colleges.

The Baie Verte campus offers only 3 programs. The Welder and the Industrial Mechanic programs last nine months. While the Construction/Industrial Electrician program lasts for one year. The Baie Verte campus accepts almost 70 full-time students per semester and approximately 300 students participate in Continuing Education evening courses.
