School Description

The College of St Joseph was originally established as St. Joseph’s Teacher’s College in 1956. The College was founded by a group of women led by S. Mary Matthew McDevitt; and shortly after it established an affiliation with the Catholic University of America. St. Joseph’s received the authority – by the state of Vermont – to award a Bachelor’s of Science in Education in 1960; the college was also renamed College of St. Joseph the Provider that same year.

Over the years the college has continued to grow and expand both in terms of the college itself as well as in terms of its curriculum and student body; in 1971, the College enrolled its first male students. Today the College of St. Joseph is an independent, nonprofit, Catholic institution offering student-centered undergraduate and graduate programs guided by Christian values to men and women of varied faiths and backgrounds.

College of St. Joseph - A welcoming community in which to belong and learn

I have gone back to the College of St. Joseph throughout my life. I was a traditional student while obtaining an associate degree and non-traditional while obtaining my bachelor of science and master of business administration. I like most the deep feeling of belonging. It's a community worth being a part of.
