The college runs a five-year medical degree, awarded jointly by the Universities of Brighton and Sussex, leading to the qualification of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BM BS). Brighton and Sussex Medical School is an equal partnership between the Universities of Sussex and Brighton together with NHS organisations throughout the South East region. The arrangements for the School's governance reflect this approach and students are awarded joint BM BS degrees of both Universities.

This program is designed to equip students with the theoretical and practical knowledge of Medicine. The program offers courses that focus on the study of science and practices used in the detection, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, as well as pharmaceuticals and surgery.
