          • 1979-1983, Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

Alma College was committed to my success.

Alma College allowed me to get a personalized education that I would not have received at a larger college or university. I was able to expand my horizons by studying overseas and Alma helped me get there. I also developed long lasting friendships with people that I still socialize with today. I will always cherish my memories of my time there.

Alma College: Fantastic opportunities and the Alma family

The first time we stepped on the Alma College campus, my twin and I knew that it was the right place for us. We were struck by the friendly feel of all of the staff, the beautiful campus, and the opportunities available to us. Alma gave us the chance to stay involved in all of the activities we loved as well as growing new passions, from sports (Track & Field and Soccer) to music (Kiltie Marching Band and Choir), Greek life to academic societies (EHS Honor Society, Psi Chi Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa, etc.) – as well as developing skills and insight into our career directions. It was a fantastic springboard to graduate school for both of us, with the rigor of our academic program making graduate school seem easy! Returning as a staff member, first in the career office and now working with alumni, I have many opportunities to look back at my experience, and can see clearly how the relationships with faculty, staff and other students both supported and challenged me in my development. I see the amazing products of this place as I visit alumni around the country: I am so proud of the accomplishments of our alumni (and students), get choked up when I hear the bagpipes, and am astounded over and over by the bond that is created just by being a part of the Alma family in some way. Go Scots!

          • 2007-2009, Bachelor of Arts (BA)

            Alma was my home.

An Alma education is praiseworthy, but I grew the most as a person thanks to the welcoming, supportive campus community and the fantastic friends I made--including the man I married! On a beautiful campus you can walk across in fifteen minutes, you get to know just about everyone in your major, your professors, and many of the staff, especially the awesome people who make your food (always appreciate them). And then there are the many and varied student organizations, where even an introverted geek like me could find a niche to belong in. (Go ACOG!) Alma was truly my home away from home.
