Program Description
Students that wish to seek a degree in design have the opportunity to do so at Arizona State University. The design program offered by the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts is the largest and often considered the most comprehensive school nationwide. Overall, the undergraduate programs and degrees offered by the school are ranked among the top 20 in the country.
Obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in one of the nine undergraduate programs of study requires 120 credit hours. The degree should take approximately eight semesters or four years to complete. Students can choose to focus their studies on landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, interior design, design research, industrial design, visual graphic design, environmental design and interdisciplinary design. Any of these courses of study can help teach students how to combine their creativity with the technical tools necessary to help them achieve success in their chosen design field.
