Chinese (Arizona State University)
Receive a BA in Chinese in just four years. This dynamic Chinese program includes coursework in Chinese language study, print culture, cultural history and religion. Students will understand the key principles of Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism, as well as how these ways of thinking relate to the spoken language of China.
From in-depth literature reviews and one-on-one training in spoken Chinese language to general language acquisition techniques, this 120-credit hour course equips students with the resources and knowledge needed to pursue a career in translation services, public relations, hospitality, foreign correspondence or any other field requiring competence in a second language.
Students wishing to begin a BA in Chinese will start with an introductory course in Chinese. No prior experience in written or spoken Chinese is necessary to begin this course. Embark on a journey to understand the world from a different viewpoint, connect across cultures and learn to appreciate the vast history and linguistic intricacies of China.
