Amridge University
School Description
Amridge University was foundedn in 1967, but its first embodiment came to existence as the Montgomery Bible School, founded by Rex Turner, Sr., Leonard Johnson, and Joe Greer in the year 1942. The institution has gone through a few name changes and campus transfers, it received its Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation in 1989 and two years later changed its name again to Southern Christian University. Through the years, its has continued to diversify its academic programs and expanded its grounds to accommodate future growth. Until finally, in 2008, it became Amridge University.
Today, Amridge University sits on a scenic lake-front campus that covers 650 acres of land and growing. It enrolls just over 600 graduate and undergraduate students who are studying 8 bachelor's and 12 master's degree programs offered through 5 schools, namely: College of General Studies, College of Business and Leadership, School of Human Services, Turner School of Theology, and the School of Continuing Education.
