School Description
American University of Sharjah was founded in 1997 by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Sharjah. The University follows the American system of higher education but is yet grounded in Arab culture. Even though Arabic is the official language of the United Arab Emirates, English is the medium of instruction at AUS.
AUS is licensed and its programs are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the United Arab Emirates; as well as by the United States of America by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It’s programs are also separately accredited.
