Alfred State College
School Description
Tracing its early beginnings to 1908, Alfred State College first opened its doors as a state school of agriculture. It was later absorbed by the newly organized State University of New York (SUNY) system initially offering associate degrees before offering its first bachelor's degrees in 1991.
Today, offers 23 bachelor's degrees in areas of agriculture and veterinary technology, architecture and design, automotive and building trades, business, civil engineering technology, computer and information technology, computerized design and manufacturing, culinary arts, digital media and animation, English and humanities, mathematics and physics, nursing, physical and life sciences, social and behavioral sciences. Alfred State College currently enrolls approximately 6,000 students, abut 2,000 of which are on-campus residents living in one of the 9 accommodation options the college has for freshmen and upperclassmen alike.
