Master degree programs in Languages provide an in-depth education in a variety of languages. Most programs allow students to focus on studies in one particular language and to take courses in literature, linguistics, cultural studies and more. What Is a Master’s in Languages?

A Master’s in Languages can be earned at many excellent schools and takes between one and three years to complete. This program consists of the intense study of a particular language and includes courses in literature, literary theory, cultural studies and more.

Most Master’s in Languages assume fluency in at least one foreign language upon admission. This program is geared towards advanced study of a language. Some programs allow students to specialise in two languages at a time. Most Languages coursework will include foundational courses in literature and linguistics.
