Live in one of the best and happiest student cities in the UK

Coventry University (CU) is located along Priory Street in Coventry, which is known as one of the best student cities in the UK. CU students can learn and explore the city’s rich history and heritage, cultural entertainment, and scenery by visiting sites like the Coventry Cathedral, St. Mary’s Guildhall, the Coventry Transport Museum, Fargo Village, and other shops and restaurants around the area.

CU has established multiple campuses across the country – CU Coventry, CU London, and CU Scarborough. You can choose whether your campus is based in the city, the capital, or on the coast. All locations offer higher education qualifications and provide first-class teaching, campus facilities, and a London city student experience.

CU has ensured that the university remains at the forefront of innovation in teaching and enterprise by investing £500 million in building a new engineering and computing building, a science and health facility, and two new transport research facilities. CU students can also access state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, performing art studios, conference areas, cafeterias, and work and social spaces like the Student Center, The Hub, The Lanchester Library, and the Student Engagement Center.

Services beyond education

Coventry University’s mission does not end with a high-quality education, it includes every student’s welfare, personal development, and career growth. CU offers a variety of support centers and opportunities to help students become the best version of themselves.

Focused on health and wellbeing, the Spirituality and Faith Center serves as a quiet oasis amid the hectic pace of university life, while services for disabilities, counseling, and mental health are made available through the Mental Health and Medical Center.

CU also looks after the future careers of its students. Through a central careers service, faculty employability teams, the unique Add+vantage career modules, and its innovative Global Leaders Program, students can boost their personal and professional development and succeed in becoming highly employable and “global-ready” graduates.

Top-notch campus experience

Coventry University has been recognized by the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019 as the “University of the Year for Student Experience.” This is a result of CU’s extensive efforts in providing a great learning and communal environment that maximizes students’ potential.

Turning away from the traditional approach of teaching, CU’s Disruptive Media Learning Lab is equipped with experimental learning areas where students are inspired to think outside the box. With the use of cards and Lego building blocks among other tools, creativity and imagination are enhanced. CU believes that games and playful thinking are keys to establishing a university suitable for the 21st century.

With more than 100 clubs and societies to join on campus, CU students can be part of anything they want to be. On-campus, The Hub is the center of student life. This is where you can gather with your friends during your free period, enjoy delicious meals from different stalls, or just hang out and relax.

Across from The Hub, CU’s Sports Center and the Westwood Health Sports facilities can be used during free time. CU also promotes an active and healthy lifestyle which is why a wide range of activities are available for sports and fitness purposes.

What makes CU stand out is its advocacy of equality, diversity, and inclusion. People with disabilities and  LGBTQ staff and students are accepted and given equal treatment and respect within the whole community.

Your city, your university

CU is also dedicated to working with the local community. With the help of more than 1,000 volunteers from the student body and faculty members, community projects are organized throughout the year to help Coventry prosper. CU’s aim is to build links with residents, schools, charities, and voluntary organizations to improve the lives of everyone in Coventry.

Some of the initiatives CU is involved in include visiting schools to give academic and financial support to local children, cleaning up the local environment,  assisting elderly people in libraries to improve their computing and digital skills with the Gen-to-Gen project, holding regular computing, design, and engineering sessions to inspire and teach children and adults, and running the weekly Saturday Art Club for teenagers.

CU students are compassionate and bring the university’s mission to life.  Some of their kindhearted gestures have included holding a charity sleepout as part of a fundraising campaign to help homeless people across the city and selling delicious cupcakes to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.
