About Simpson University
Simpson University is a Christian school that is committed to nurturing and guiding students in achieving good character and completing service to the community through innovative teaching and learning methods. The Simpson University community is diverse, welcoming and inclusive, an excellent environment for international students.
There are six residence halls, of which two are for men, three are for women and one is co-ed. Each building is equipped with communal kitchens, lounges and laundry facilities for the ease of all students. Living on campus is considered an important part of the Simpson experience, with 88% of new students living on campus. Living on campus makes it easier to make new friends and be involved in university activities, not to mention it provides easy access to campus facilities and resources such as the library and sports facilities.

Situated in Shasta County in the state of California, Simpson University is surrounded by natural beauty. The Sacramento River runs through the city while mountains, hills and valleys envelope Redding from all sides. Redding is about 160 miles north of the city of Sacramento and 230 miles north of San Francisco.
Redding is a haven for those who love the great outdoors. Known as the “Trail Capital of California,” there are 200 miles of hiking and biking trails to enjoy in addition to the river, multiple lakes and national parks nearby. Boasting over 300 days of sunshine per year, Redding is the 2nd sunniest city in the US and it offers many outdoor activities for students. As per TIME magazine, the city is the unofficial capital of kayaking. The city is also home to the famous Sundial Bridge, one of the largest working sundials in the world, and it has been named a “Top 10 Fishing Town in America” by Forbes. Make your way a little outside the city perimeter and visit the Lassen Volcanic National Park, or the McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park.

Activities around campus
True to their goals, Simpson University provides many different activities for students around campus. Interested in learning how to climb? The climbing wall on campus is 30 feet tall, 8 feet wide and 3.5 feet deep and it offers opportunities for sport, leadership and team-building activities. Want to join a school sport? The university’s intramural sports program offers many team and individual sports. Want to pursue a hobby? Students can participate in student government and student clubs, of which there are numerous to choose from.
The Counseling Center ensures that the student body’s mental well-being is also cared for while studying at Simpson University. Counseling services are offered to improve both academic and personal life. Students can suffer from relationship issues, depression, anxiety, substance abuse or even academic issues such as failing grades or problems focusing during class. The Counseling Center provides one-on-one sessions, and also organizes group counseling and seminars throughout the year.
Simpson University offers students many useful and informative services to help them throughout their time at the university. The school’s Career Services department helps students make decisions regarding their future professional lives. It provides career counseling, seminars, resources, networking opportunities and internship information. The staff here also helps students practice interview skills and walks them through how to write a resume and cover letter.
