Southern Utah University has officially trademarked the title “University of the Parks,” and there is no wonder why. Located near 20 national parks, monuments and recreation areas, and with its special educational partnerships with the National Park Service, the school is in a unique position to not only offer students an excellent academic experience, but an opportunity to discover the great outdoors as well.

Dubbed one of the most “outdoorsy” colleges in the country, SUU is fortunate to be surrounded by a diverse and awe-inspiring landscape. Students can participate in a wide array of activities such as horseback riding at Bryce Canyon National Park, hiking in Zion National Park, spelunking in Great Basin National Park or even a little boating at Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

The beautiful surroundings are not only for pleasure - students can take advantage of SUU’s geographical location and apply learning in real life as they complete degrees in geology, biology, archaeology, environmental psychology and outdoor recreation.
