Manchester University is situated in the pretty town of North Manchester in the US state of Indiana. North Manchester is a small town with a population of just over 6,000 residents. The beautiful streets and classic architecture are lovely and students enjoy the intimate size of the city. However, if students want a dose of city life they do not have to travel far – North Manchester is in close proximity to the larger cities of Fort Wayne and Indianapolis in Indiana and even Chicago in northern Illinois.   

Fort Wayne,  the second largest city in the state of Indiana, is only 35 miles away. The city offers ample opportunities for students to immerse themselves in cultural, recreational and entertainment activities. Students can visit the museums, stroll around the zoo, catch a sports game or explore the great outdoors – there are plenty of activities that students will love!

Manchester University offers more than 60 different majors and minors for undergraduate, graduate and professional studies. There are four colleges at the university: College of Business; College of Pharmacy, Natural & Health Sciences; College of Education & Social Sciences; and the College of Arts & Humanities.  With small class sizes, students are given a close-knit environment where they can learn and grow in order to develop their skills and increase their knowledge and understanding about their subject of choice. About 96% of students are employed or enrolled in higher education within six months of graduation and 100% of new undergraduate students receive some type of financial aid.

The city of North Manchester has also been recognized as one of the 20 “Safest Cities in Indiana” in 2016, due to the city’s low crime rate and vigilant police force.

The Manchester University campus is just a few minutes away from the city’s downtown area where students can grab a bite to eat or do a bit of shopping. The campus itself is a beautiful green space with towering oak trees, fountains and gardens. About 72% of enrolled students live on campus in the university’s many residence halls. There are numerous locations where students can meet their friends to study or chat, such as Sisters Café or the gorgeous Peace Garden. The Student Activities Center is also a popular spot for students to hang out and study.

There are over 60 different student clubs and organizations offered on campus, ranging from the Asian Awareness Association and the Economics Club, to the Model United Nations and Theater Society. These groups are an excellent way for new students to meet new people and form friendships with individuals with similar interests to their own.  There are many events and activities organized on campus and the Student Experience Center is also there to provide students with resources and information on all aspects of student life.

The Manchester University campus community is small, strong and supportive of one another and the school devotes itself to ensuring that students have an all-round stimulating and enriching college experience.

Manchester University’s Intercultural Center is home to the Office of Multicultural Affairs. The center and office both provide students with opportunities to experience other cultures and also to support ethnically diverse students in their journey at Manchester University. The Office of Multicultural Affairs organizes programs, fairs, festivals and much more to foster a more global and tolerant campus perspective and community.

The Office also helps international students with their transition to the United States, and ensures that they have all the information, advice and guidance they require to have their best experience possible at Manchester University.
