Develop and hone your musical talent at California College of Music
California College of Music offers academic instruction to students in voice, guitar, bass, drums, and piano/keyboards.
California College of Music (CCM) has encouraged international student enrolment since its establishment in 1999. Located in sunny Pasadena, California, in the United States - just a few minutes outside of downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood - this prestigious, forward-thinking music institute helps students blaze their trail in the music industry.
CCM offers a musical community where students will find support, guidance, camaraderie and inspiration. The college organizes student trips and movie nights, amongst other activities for their students to enjoy.
It is important to note that instead of on-campus housing, CCM offers housing placement in apartment rental units close to campus or in homestays. With homestays, students are placed in a house with a local Pasadena family who will host them for the duration of their studies at California College of Music.
Music students at CCM are given a unique opportunity to learn about the intricacies of music and also grow personally as musicians and performing artists. The college instills confidence in its students and helps them find their way in America’s vibrant and competitive music industry.
Intensive Music Performance Programs
California College of Music welcomes international students from all around the world and offers them three rigorous music programs – the Artist Development Program, the Certificate Program, and the Apprentice Program.
The Artist Development Program lasts for four quarters and is geared towards recording artists, singer-songwriters, and producers/engineers. This program is for musicians who want to develop their work in CCM’s world-class recording studio. The Certificate Program also lasts for four quarters, and it helps musicians not only perfect their performance technique but also develops their professional business acumen with classes such as music theory, ear training, music production, and music business. The Apprentice Program lasts for two quarters, and it is designed to establish a strong foundation for future musical study.
Optional Practical Training (OPT) is also available to students who have already finished a 12-month program at California College of Music. This training gives students real-life work experience in the American music industry.
Experienced Faculty And Industry Professionals
The faculty and staff at CCM are highly experienced and professional. The college boasts some of the most talented music educators and performers in the industry and they ensure that all students receive support, guidance, and encouragement. With a student to faculty ratio of 12:1, the small class sizes are ideal for building relationships with professors and other students. The professors teach music courses on five instruments: voice, guitar, bass, drums, and piano/keyboard.
Affordable Tuition & Talent-Based Scholarships
The California College of Music aspires to make music education affordable to all students by offering a much lower tuition than other comparable private music colleges. CCM’s base tuition for international students is approximately $22,800 per year. The school also offers talent-based scholarships, zero-interest payment plans, and in some special cases, tuition reductions. Each applicant for admission is evaluated by their demo recordings, a statement of purpose, and their high school transcripts.
